The Alhambra collection was introduced by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1968, beginning with a long necklace composed of 20 clover-shaped motifs in yellow gold. Inspired by the form of a four-leaf clover, the motif became closely associated with the Maison’s recurring theme of luck and has remained central to the collection ever since.

Over time, Alhambra has expanded across necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other jewelry forms, with the signature motif appearing in a wide range of materials and colors. Despite these variations, the collection retains the distinctive quatrefoil silhouette that has defined Alhambra since its introduction.
