The Patek Philippe Grand Complications 5204G-010 comes as a white gold interpretation of the manufacture’s split-seconds chronograph with perpetual calendar, pairing one of Patek Philippe’s most established high-complication formats with a more contemporary dial and strap treatment. In this reference, the familiar architecture of the 5204 is retained, but the combination of a sunburst navy blue dial, white printed tachymeter scale, and composite strap gives the watch a more overtly sporty character than earlier, more classically styled executions.

Its case is crafted in fully polished white gold and measures 40 mm in diameter. The proportions remain aligned with the 5204 family, preserving the relatively compact footprint expected of a traditional split-seconds chronograph with perpetual calendar despite the density of the displays and the complexity of the movement inside. The polished white gold case gives the watch a bright and formal frame, while the darker dial and strap shift the overall balance away from purely dress-oriented presentation.

The dial is executed in sunburst navy blue and fitted with applied faceted obus-style hour markers in white gold. White gold dauphine-style hands with white luminescent coating are used for the main time display, an unusual detail in the context of a Patek Philippe grand complication and one that reinforces the more contemporary positioning of this reference. The perpetual calendar indications retain the familiar layout of the model, with the day and month displayed in a double aperture at 12 o’clock and the date indicated by hand together with the moon-phase display at 6 o’clock. The chronograph registers are arranged with an instantaneous 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock, while a tachymeter scale printed in white runs around the dial perimeter.

Inside is the manually wound Patek Philippe calibre CHR 29-535 PS Q, a split-seconds chronograph movement combined with a perpetual calendar. The chronograph is built with two column wheels and a horizontal clutch, underscoring the movement’s traditional construction, while the perpetual calendar integrates the full calendar display into the same calibre rather than treating it as a separate visual layer added to the dial. In this reference, the movement remains one of the defining elements of the watch, bringing together one of the manufacture’s most recognisable complication pairings in a calibre that is both mechanically dense and visually associated with classical chronograph architecture.

The watch is fitted with a navy blue composite strap featuring a fabric pattern and contrasting red stitching, secured by a patented triple-blade fold-over clasp in white gold. An additional dark blue alligator leather strap with contrasting red stitching is also supplied. This dual-strap approach is a notable part of the reference’s identity: with the composite strap fitted, the 5204G-010 takes on a markedly more casual and contemporary profile than is usual for a Patek Philippe perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph, while the alligator strap returns it to a more traditional register. The result is a version of the 5204 that preserves the underlying complication architecture of the model while presenting it in a distinctly more modern configuration.
