Originally designed for polo players, the reversible watch shares a common history with horse riding. On the reverse of the Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh, the horse is at the centre of a hunting scene reproduced in miniature painting. Bursting with colour, this scene is taken from the Book of Kings (Shahnameh in Persian), an epic and mythical tale written in the 10th century by the poet Ferdowsi. In a lush natural setting, a rider pursues a herd of wild horses. On the front of the watch, the dial features a lozenge hand-guilloché (4,905 lines), then Grand Feu enamelled in a fir green, perfectly matching the colours of the landscape on the reverse. This limited edition piece pays tribute to four of Jaeger-LeCoultre's Métiers Rares™ practised at the Manufacture: guillochage, enamelling, miniature painting and paillonnage.
