The RM 52-05, Pharrell Williams' inaugural timepiece with Richard Mille, transcends conventional watchmaking, blending multidisciplinary artistry and cutting-edge technology. This manual winding tourbillon marvel boasts a grade 5 titanium construction (90% titanium, 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium) with blue aventurine glass inserts representing the cosmos. The tourbillon movement, featuring large triangular and hexagonal copper crystal inclusions, symbolizes the universe's vastness. Rigorous tests confirm its resistance capacities.

The innovative barrel design enhances performance, and the central involute profile of the winding-barrel teeth ensures optimal pressure (20°) for effective rotary motion. The movement dimensions are 32.80 x 30.90 mm, with a thickness of 6.40 mm. The tourbillon diameter is 10.90 mm, and the balance wheel diameter is 9.12 mm. It comprises 19 jewels, a Glucydur® balance wheel with 2 arms and 4 setting screws, a moment of inertia of 11.50 mg.cm2, and a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz). The balance spring is elinvar by Nivarox®, and shock protection is provided by KIF ELASTOR KE 160 B28. The barrel shaft is in nickel-free Chronifer®.

The grade 5 titanium helmet, resting on a spacesuit structure, connects the dial to the movement beneath it. Painted white, it features projectors and cameras represented by diamonds and a black sapphire. The Martian scene is intricately engraved, grand-feu enameled, and hand-painted. The brown Cermet bezel combines titanium with ceramic for lightness and scratch resistance. The tripartite case, water-resistant to 50 meters, incorporates Carbon TPT® with 600 layers of carbon fibers and 24 spline screws in grade 5 titanium.
